About Us
Mile High Musical Tails' president and founder, Sue Cianfarani, became interested in dog dancing in 1999. After retiring from her job as a social worker, she followed her passion into a new career as a dog trainer. When she first learned about dog dancing in California, she just knew she would like it. So she practiced with her own dogs, then compiled all the necessary information and founded Mile High Musical Tails in October of 2002.
We started with five dog owners interested in having fun dancing with their dogs. This led to the idea of establishing a dancing venue in Colorado. Club members began attending freestyle classes twice a month, and attending practice sessions twice a month at a local dog-training center. We became affiliated with the World Canine Freestyle Organization (WCFO, INC.) in New York in November of 2002. A few freestyle students demonstrated the new sport of dog dancing at the Denver Stock Show in January of 2004.
Our website provides links to organizations we're affiliated with. We also provide links to sites that host some of our work that we're not affiliated with. We provide the information in good faith and hope that you partake in the festivities.
